Tesselaar Tulip Festival

We have been going to the Tesselaar Tulip Festival from last few years and still love going back. What a wonderful surprise. Over the next 4 weeks it will be again on and are looking forward to visiting this beautiful place again. The tulips were in full bloom and what amazing sight. This place reminds you of a place from Holland. They claim to have one million bulbs and likely there were.

All areas were well organised and nice; plenty of stalls for shopping, food, etc. We spent few hours there and took lots of photos and walking around the grounds.Β

This year the festival starts with an explosion of colour on Turkish Weekend, celebrating the origins of the Tulip with Melbourne’s vibrant Turkish community on September 14 and15.Β

Spring Fever Weeks will be the first and last weeks of the Festival and are a great way to enjoy the Tulips and everything else on offer without the school holiday crowds. Entry is slightly cheaper these weeks, September 16 – 19 & October 7 – 10.

Festival turns into a mini Holland during Dutch Weekend with Dutch treats, entertainment, dancing and more from September 20 – 22. Get your photo taken in one of the world’s largest wooden clogs or indulge in a plate of hot Dutch pancakes while you walk the fields.

Kids LOL Week (September 23 – 26) brings daily entertainment from the Splash Test Dummies, while Superhero Week (September 30 – Oct 3) encourages kids to dress up as their favourite superhero while they watch the PJ Masks stage show. There is also a petting zoo, giant garden games, storytelling, a fairy garden and rides on our famous Tulip Tractor. Best thing? Kids entry is free every day of the Festival.Β

Food, Wine and Jazz Weekend (September 27 – 29) with live bands, delicious foods from around the world teamed with award-winning wine, beer and ciders.

Rock the Fields Weekend (October 4 – 6) will have you jiving in the flower fields with live music from the 50’s and 60’s all weekend. Food trucks, dancing demonstrations and fashion in the fields will ensure everyone has a rockin’ good time!

What better way to close the Festival than with a pint of Guinness during Irish Weekend (October 11 – 13). There will be all day entertainment with live bands, Irish pipers and dancers.Β
