First Beach Trip to Great Ocean Road After Lockdown

It was the first trip after the lockdown. COVID-19 was preventing us all from hitting the road, we were spending a lot of time dreaming about our next beach trip. Thankfully coronavirus cases decreased in Victoria and the local government relaxed lockdown policy and we were able to travel again within our state.Β

Fairhaven is a town southwest of Melbourne, Australia.Β One of our favourite beach with in an hour drive from home. Fairhaven Beach is a popular surfing destination, and the Fairhaven Surf Lifesaving Club, which was founded in 1957 is one of the best in Australia.

This is one of our favourite spot near Melbourne and as a family we love going for long walks on this beach. Don’t forget to pack a picnic basket so that you can enjoy your time there rather than driving to a nearby restaurant in Aireys Inlet.

After spending a day on the beach we love going to The Split Point Lighthouse in Aireys Inlet for afternoon tea before heading back home. Aireys Inlet is one of Great Ocean Road’s best kept secrets, offering visitors serenity and tranquility with spectacular cliffs, beautiful beaches, a picturesque river valley and Otway National Park.

Great Place to visit with kids. Discover and enjoy beautiful views from Surf Coast Walk. We will strongly recommend to pack a picnic basket and enjoy this beautiful and picturesque part of Great Ocean Road with family.
